Shane is completely moonstruck by the gorgeous man in a white tank top and low slung work pants.
They bond and get to know each other over the months of restoring the car.
I mean, they’re probably hooking up when David heads home for the day. Maybe Ilya’s apartment is next door or above the garage.
The doctors clear Shane to start the next season after the break.
He is loathe to leave Ilya but hockey calls. It would be insane to use his unrestricted free agency to go to the Ottawa Centaurs to be close to Ilya.
But love can make you a little crazy. Like moving to a team that would accepting of your relationship… it’s just one meeting with the new coach.

No one communicated well about this; Mara did what had to be done, Brynd was willing to take any job to prove themself, even if this doesn't quite match their expectations, and Léthia was unaware of all of it until someone showed up at her door expecting to be fed and housed while getting the "estate" in order.
This is not about any of that. This is about the permeable boundary between insider and outsider and the actions taken on each side to allow someone to cross it, and also about a late-night excursion on a little old boat.

Judge my end-of-summer baihe reading choices! This time, our candidates are:

And Then the Skeleton Laughed Out Loud (然后骷髅笑出了声, pinyin: ranhou kulou xiao chule sheng), an unlimited flow novel by Li Qiu Lang (李秋琅). I chose this partly because I wanted to read an unlimited flow novel and this was the shortest one I could find, and partly because the title sounded fun.
My Crybaby CEO (总裁她总是哭唧唧, pinyin: zongcai ta zong shi ku jiji), also by Li Qiu Lang. I have this on my shelf and sometimes you just want a (hopefully) cute CEO romance as a palate cleanser for your brain.
That Time I Was Transported into an Omegaverse Novel and Got Marked by the Female Lead (穿书后我被女主标记了, pinyin: chuanshu hou wo bei nüzhu biaoji le) by Xiao Wu Jun (小吾君), mainly because I've been vaguely meaning to read something by her for a while and this seems to be her most popular baihe novel.
To Prolong Life (续命, pinyin: xuming), a historical-set novel with supernatural elements by Yi Tian Ba Bei Shui (一天八杯水). Again, an author I've been meaning to read for a while, I wanted a novel with a historical setting to balance out the list, and this seems to be her most popular historical.
Fireworks in Winter (冬日花火, pinyin: dongri hua huo) by Min Ran (闵然). Hit contemporary tragedy from last year. Reading it mostly to see if it lives up to the hype, and also because I have the print edition.
Of Inkstones and Young Tea (砚品新茗, pinyin: yan pin xin ming) by Shi Wei Yue Shang (时微月上). A xianxia title to round off the list.

The mods will reveal the work on AO3 on your posting day; participants should plan to update the posting date on their work so it'll show up on fandom RSS feeds and at the top of the fandom tag when sorted by date. Unfortunately, AO3 won't let you list a posting date in the future so you'll have to manually change it on your reveal date. (We'll send you an email reminder about this on the day of your reveal.)
